I am an accomplished Clinical Social Worker; HR consultant and Industrial Psychologist with over 27 years’ experience in the Social Work and Industrial Psychology field. My formal work experience in the Human Resources area started as an Intern-Industrial Psychologist then Industrial Psychologist being exposed to and being trained in the full spectrum of Human Resources. I have also done consulting work in the area of facilitation and psychometric assessments. I have gained extensive experience in the field of medico-legal work, first as an assistant/associate to Professor Fatima Abrahams and then on my own.
I have practised as a social worker in all the spheres of social work as well as a facilitator/trainer and assessments practitioner for a large fundraising organisation. This allowed me to see both sides of social work. The practical, implementation side and the sustainability and operational side as seen from a Donor’s perspective. I have also worked in the United Kingdom and was able to successfully manage my workload and get to grips with the different approach to therapeutic interventions. My focus currently is strongly on anxiety, depression, grief, trauma and relationship counselling.
I have well-developed Leadership, Counseling, Coaching, Group therapy & Interviewing skills as well as Presentation & Facilitation skills and the ability to create a productive and motivating working environment through a well-balanced task- people focus.
I am constantly trying to establish networks and ensure that these relationships are nurtured and maintained.
