I enjoy working with couples and individuals who are either looking to transform their relationship with each other or themselves. I hope to help you become very present in your own life in a mindful and self accepting way, and in order to do this I listen attentively and with empathy to the challenges you face. In this way I help you understand what is getting in the way of their contentment or growth, and what you need to do to change that.
I look at past events if necessary and also work very practically in the present, sometimes gently if required, and sometimes boldly, but always with strong support and care. I will also link you to resources, literature and other practitioners who will help you in your journey if needed.
I work with a variety of emotional and mental health issues; both with acute as well as chronic trauma. Trauma may not be any major life event, but also those micro hurts and injuries that we suffer as children when we are too vulnerable to understand their meaning and impact.
For those interested in theoretical perspectives, I use a combination of psychodynamic and attachment theory, and mindfulness and relational life therapy.
