Experience
Toni ran the Door of Hope Counseling Centre from 1999 for a period of 18 years. She completed her BA Social Science (Hons) in 2005 and has practised as a registered social worker since then. Her experience is varied and comprehensive and her expertise has built through courses both given and undertaken.
She is counselling in a school environment as well as offering a service as a Social Worker in Private Practice. She works closely with other professionals and is in good standing with her community.
Individual Counselling
Toni recognises the importance of creating a safe place for children, adults and couples to work through issues. Toni believes strongly in the importance of building relationships of trust and seeing people through to wholeness.
Group Work
Toni uses group work as an effective tool, when necessary, as members support, encourage and teach each other whilst not feeling alone in their challenges. This could be for children or adults.
Talks
Toni has done a number of talks on various topics at churches, schools and interest groups as well as written articles for publication.
Play and Sand Tray Therapy
Children, in particular, use play to express their feelings and process their world through play. Play and Sand-Tray therapy create a safe place for children to express their feelings and situation and is used as a tool.
Toni has done numerous courses in play therapy, art therapy and is in the process of becoming an internationally accredited sand tray therapist with the International Society for Sandplay Therapy.
Fees
All consultations are conducted on a cash / EFT basis and invoices may be requested and claimed from medical aid.
