Line-up

The album’s third, Turn Back, marked an reversion to the classic sextet style of previous albums. It was a more ferocious, consistent effort that had an edge that was stronger than Hydra. The more edgy sound of the album was indicative of the maturation of group, with drummer Bobby Kimball’s improved proficiency on the drums, as well as a more mature, confident vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams. Hungate also returned to Nashville and Leland Sklar’s drumming was replaced by Shem Von Schroeck.

Downes, Wetton Palmer and Howe, the original members of Asia, met in England in the beginning of 2006 to discuss the possibility that the group could be reformed. This lineup, minus Howe who was busy with Yes during that time, became Toto XIV. They toured extensively.
