Heidi has 25 years of experience as a Social Worker and works with Individuals, Couples and Families, the main focus in her practice is on families and relationships, including Case Management, Parental Coordination, Supervised Contact, Mediation and Facilitation, Parenting Plans and Parental Rights and Responsibilities Agreements. Heidi also supervises peers in private practice (both psychologists and social workers).
In the NGO environment Heidi has worked with; The 702 Crisis Centre, The Crisis Support Centre, POWA (People Opposing Women Abuse), READ, R.O.C.S (in their JOCASA project, training Catholic priests in counselling skills.), ARDA (Alzheimer’s and Related Dementias Association), The Multiple Sclerosis Association and Raising Roots. She worked for six years as a counsellor and facilitator of parenting programmes at the Family Life Centre in Parkwood. She also developed and facilitates the “Talking to…Tweens and Teens” workshops and the Post-Divorce Parenting Programme.
Her primary aim is to help people to become the best that they can be in all areas of their lives. She takes a future oriented problem solving approach, which has proven to be extremely helpful when dealing with career concerns, parenting concerns and relationship/family problems.
Heidi is a registered social worker with the South African Council Service Professions (Registration no. 10-18169), she is a full member of SAASWIPP (the South African Association of Social Workers in Private Practice – Registration No. 700/446) and is registered with the Board of Health Service Professionals (Practice No: 089 000 0144525)
