Minke Saayman is a Clinical Social Worker in private practice since 2009. She obtained her BA(SW) at Potchefstroom University in 1996 and then her MA (Soc Sc) Clinical – (Cum Laude) at the University of Johannesburg. Her vast experience includes social work at Child Welfare in Potchefstroom, after which she relocated to Johannesburg and joined the teams at various Abraham Kriel Maria Kloppers Children’s Home campuses before starting private practice.
Mrs Saayman has vast experience in socio-emotional assessment and -therapy with children, adults and families, therapeutic work with foster parents, supervision and internship training of social work students at the University of Johannesburg and also presented training for Master Students at the University of Johannesburg.
She is passionate about working with children and families and to heal the effects of childhood trauma as well as to assist with the healing of other mental health concerns. Minke has been involved in working with children and families in alternative care, since the start of her career. The framework from which she works includes child-centered therapy, attachment therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, solution focused therapy, parental skills training and more recently tele-play therapy.
